The Eurofighter Typhoon is a European twin-engine, canard delta wing, multirole fighter. The Typhoon was designed originally as an air superiority fighter and is manufactured by a consortium of Airbus, BAE Systems and Leonardo that conducts the majority of the project through a joint holding company, Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH. The NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency, representing the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain manages the project and is the prime customer. On May 21, 2014 at RAF Coningsby two aircraft that would take part in the 70th Anniversary of D-Day were revealed. The Eurofighter Typhoon II ZK308 and Spitfire Mk. IX MK356/5J-K, were both wearing the iconic black and white stripes associated with this historic event. Typhoon II FGR.4 ZK308 from 29 (R) Squadron was coded TP-V MN-526 of the 198 Squadron as a tribute to the Hawker Typhoons of WWII. These special painted aircraft along with others, took part in the Duxford Air Show held on May 24, 2014.
