The Mikoyan MiG-29 NATO reporting name: Fulcrum, is a twin-engine jet fighter aircraft designed in the Soviet Union. Developed by the Mikoyan design bureau as an air superiority fighter during the 1970s, the MiG-29, along with the larger Sukhoi Su-27, was developed to counter new U.S. fighters such as the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle and the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon. The MiG-29 entered service with the Soviet Air Forces in 1982. Primary Role: Air Superiority Fighter, Multirole Fighter.
MiG-29A 7702 MSN: 2960526377/3902 was received by the Czech Air Force on June 27, 1989 and assigned to the 1 Squadron, 11th Fighter Air Regiment Czechoslovak Air Force at Zatec Air Base. The MiG-29 didnĘt last long with the Czech Air Force because in December 1992 7702 was decommissioned and in December 1995 it and 9 other MiG-29s were sold to the Polish Air Force. The aircraft was given the number 77 and assigned to 1. elt (tactical aviation sq.) "Warszawa" / 23. blot (AFB) Minsk-Mazowiecki.
