The Boeing F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornet are twin-engine, carrier-capable, multirole fighter aircraft variants based on the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. The F/A-18E single-seat and F/A-18F tandem-seat variants are larger and more advanced derivatives of the F/A-18C and D Hornet. Primary Role: Carrier-Based Multirole Fighter.

In December 2004 VF-103 ôJolly Rogersö returned from a deployment and retired their F-14Bs for the newer F/A-18F Super Hornet. In 2005, along with the new aircraft came a new designation for the ôJolly Rogersö, VFA-103. On May 22, 2018 VFA-103 was assigned to USS Abraham Lincoln CVW-7. The CAG aircraft, F/A-18F Super Hornet (BuNo 168493) received special markings to celebrate the squadronÆs 75th Anniversary (1943 û 2018). The inner part of the left fin lists the squadrons that have been ôJolly Rogersö over the years.
