The General Dynamics / Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine supersonic multirole fighter aircraft originally developed by General Dynamics for the United States Air Force (USAF). Designed as an air superiority day fighter, it evolved into a successful all-weather multirole aircraft. Over 4,600 aircraft have been built since production was approved in 1976. Although no longer being purchased by the U.S. Air Force, improved versions are being built for export customers. In 1993, General Dynamics sold its aircraft manufacturing business to the Lockheed Corporation, which in turn became part of Lockheed Martin after a 1995 merger with Martin Marietta. Primary Role: Multirole fighter, Air Superiority Fighter.
Lockheed F-16C 94-0047 c/n CC-199 was delivered to the 79th FS in April 1997. In 2006 it transferred to the 20th FW/77th FS. In 2019 this aircraft was selected to join the 2020 Air Combat Command's F-16 Demo Team with work on the special paint scheme beginning in December. In May 2020 the stunning scheme was unveiled and named ôVenomö. Snake scales run along the back, belly and wings as well as up the tail. Snake eyes are on each side of the fuselage. Pilot is Major Garret ôToroö Schmitz.
