MiG-15 11811 was manufactured at Factory No. 1 in Kuybyshev. On November 1, 1950 a WWII Soviet Ace with 13 victories became the first Soviet pilot to be credited with an aerial victory in the Korean War. 1st Squadron Lt. V. I. Chizh destroyed an F-51D. MiG-15 11811 was later assigned to the 9th IAP, 3rd IAD of the Chinese Air Force. The first jet versus jet victory was accomplished when First Lieutenant Semyon Fyodorovich Khominich shot down Frank Van Sickle’s F-80C.
