The Dassault Mirage 2000 is a French multirole, single-engine fourth-generation jet fighter manufactured by Dassault Aviation. It was designed in the late 1970s as a lightweight fighter to replace the Mirage III for the French Air Force (Arm?e de l'air). The Mirage 2000 evolved into a multirole aircraft with several variants developed, with sales to a number of nations. It was later developed into the Mirage 2000N and 2000D strike variants, the improved Mirage 2000-5 and several export variants. Over 600 aircraft were built and it has been in service with nine nations. Primary Role: Multirole Fighter.

The first major upgrade for the Mirage 2000C was the new cockpit displays, upgraded computers so the pilot could use targeting pods so various guided air-to-ground weapons could be dispensed. The radar also saw an upgrade making it possible to use MICA missiles. Mirage 2000-5F c/n 208 code 44, F-UGEE serial 2-EQ was constructed in 1988 as a ôCö variant and was converted to a 2000-5F in 2002. In 2013 the aircraft was transferred to the Groupe de Chasse 1/2 Cigognes SPA103 Cigogne de Fonck.
