DRW56225sm.jpg USAF B-1B Lancer 28th Bomb Wing Ellsworth AFB. The B-1B Lancer is an impressive aircraft by anyone’s measurement. Built by Rockwell International, the four-engine supersonic bomber is capable of speeds of Mach 1.25. This important US Air Force (USAF) asset also features variable-sweep wings. The “Bone” entered USAF service in 1986, with 100 aircraft rolling off the production line up till the final one in 1988. Dragon Warbirds’ newest 1/400 scale die-cast model is equally impressive. It’s finished in the markings of the 28th Bomb Wing (28 BW), a formation based at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. 28 BW is one of only two B-1B strategic bomber wings in the USAF, the other being 7 BW. The plane stands out with its two-tone green camouflage scheme, the first time Warbirds has offered a B-1B in these colors. Meanwhile, an emblem and the name, Pride of South Dakota, is painted on the fuselage sides. The wings of the highly accurate bomber model are positioned in their unswept position, giving this exciting item yet another unique flourish. 1/400 24.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56310sm.jpg USAF B-1B Lancer Test Program. Another exciting rendition of B-1B Lancer is set to join the Dragon Warbirds fleet. The B-1 Lancer bomber is the US Air Force’s only serving variable-sweep wing aircraft. The futuristic design was conceived to create a long-range, low-level, supersonic penetrator bomber that could deliver nuclear weapons. Built by Rockwell, the B-1B Lancer appeared in 1986, and it has since been converted to carry out conventional bomber missions. Today a total of 67 “Bones” (the name is taken from its designation B-One) remain in service with the USAF. The new Dragon Warbirds model depicts an aircraft from the official Lancer Test Program. As such, it is resplendent in a white coat of paint and with the appropriate test program markings, including the colorful livery on the tail. The die-cast metal fuselage has been mated to plastic injection-molded wings and landing gear. Of interest, the variable-sweep wings are set in their forward-most ‘unswept’ position for low-speed flight or takeoff and landing. The lines and details of this white test B-1B Lancer are accurately replicated, and it comes with its own sleek display stand. 1/400 24.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56313sm.jpg 1/400 B-1B 34th BS/28th BW Ellsworth AFB 2005. The US Air Force’s only serving variable-sweep wing aircraft is the B-1 Lancer bomber. The futuristic design was originally conceived in order to create a long-range, low-level, supersonic penetrator bomber that could deliver nuclear weapons. Built by Rockwell, the B-1B Lancer appeared in 1986, and it has now been converted to conventional bomber missions. A typical bomb load of the “Bone” (the name is taken from its designation B-One) includes the GBU-31 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), a weapon that was heavily used in Iraq. One operator of the B-1B is the 34th Bomb Squadron (34 BS) of the 28th Bomb Wing (24 BW). This unit is located at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, and it has participated in numerous missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. 28 BW is one of only two strategic bomber wings in the USAF, with 67 Lancers remaining in service. Dragon Warbirds has produced another 1/400 scale model of this advanced bomber, depicting a craft from 34 BS as it appeared in 2005. This model uses the brand new tooling of the previously released Item No.56264. The fuselage made of die-cast metal has then been mated to plastic injection-molded wings and landing gear. Of interest, the variable-sweep wings are set in their forward-most ‘unswept’ position for low-speed flight or taking off/landing, which offers a quite different look to the earlier B-1B model from Warbirds. The lines and details of the B-1B Lancer are accurately replicated, and it comes with its own sleek display stand. 1/400 24.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW51029sm.jpg Bell X-1E, Test Flight, Contains 2 replicas. The famous Bell X-1 was the first aircraft to break the sound barrier in level flight. Its development started in 1945, and it was inspired by the shape of a Browning .50-cal machine gun round. Indeed, the Bell X-1 was essentially a bullet with wings, propelled by a four-chamber rocket engine. The first supersonic test flight occurred on 14 October 1947. After two Bell X-1 craft were destroyed by separate explosions in 1951, X-1E (with serial number 46-063) was reconstructed from X-1-2. Major modifications specific to the X-1E were a turbopump fuel feed system, a super-thin wing and a “knife-edge” cockpit windscreen. The X-1E performed its maiden flight on 15 December 1955 with test pilot Joe Walker at the controls. By the time the craft completed its 26th and final flight it had attained a top speed of Mach 2.21, which equates to 2,704km/h! Warbirds has added the X-1E to its 1/144 scale range of collectible aircraft. Dragon has released X-1 models before, but this model depicts the X-1E on its test flight in December 1955. Furthermore, there isn’t just one aircraft, but the set offers two complete models. One is a regular depiction of the X-1E while the other features Dragon’s exciting concept of a transparent fuselage that allows viewing of the experimental plane’s internal configuration. The two X-1Es can sit side by side on the sleek display stand that comes with the set. In this scale these two planes are not large, but they do reveal all about the Bell X-1E! 1/144 34.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

DRW56279sm.jpg C-130K Hercules C.3, 47 Squadron RAF. For more than 50 years, the American C-130 Hercules has proved an enormous success story for its manufacturer, Lockheed Martin. First produced in 1956, the C-130 is a turboprop-powered tactical transport aircraft able to land on and take off from unprepared airstrips. This aircraft, which has been modified continuously throughout its lifetime, is in service with more than 60 countries. One variant is the C-130K, a version built for export to the United Kingdom. The original C-130K of the Royal Air Force (where it’s known as the Hercules C.1) is the equivalent of the C-130E. However, the British later altered their C.1 aircraft by adding an 80-inch plug in the fuselage to increase its cargo volume by 37%. This stretched C-130K version was known as the C.3. In British service, the C-130K performs countless missions such as troop and cargo transport, medical evacuation and airborne assault. The Warbirds range from Dragon has created an all-new die-cast model of the long-body C-130K serving with the RAF. As the first C-130K in the collection, the model makes use of brand new toolings. Attached to the new fuselage is an aerial refueling probe, a device that extends the original aircraft’s range to more than 4,000 nautical miles. With more than 2,300 aircraft manufactured to date, the C-130 Hercules has the longest ever continuous production run for a military aircraft. And now collectors can have their very own RAF version of this workhorse too! 1/400 27.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56274sm.jpg C-5M Super Galaxy, 418th Flight Test Squadron 436th Airlift Wing. The C-5 Galaxy, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, is a well-known American military transport aircraft. In production since 1969, the C-5 was designed to carry oversize cargo over intercontinental distances for the US Air Force (USAF). However, technology constantly moves on, and in 1998 work began on modernizing the original C-5 Galaxy. The result was the C-5M Super Galaxy, an aircraft that is to serve on until 2040 and beyond. Key improvements include new engines under the Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Program (RERP), and updated avionics under the Avionics Modernization Program (AMP). The latter included new flat-panel displays, improved navigation and communications equipment, and an autopilot. The new power plants are General Electric CF6-80C2 engines with associated auxiliary power units, with these engines producing 22% more thrust than their predecessors. A C-5M is an aircraft that has undergone both these upgrade programs, with the first specimen flying in June 2006. A total of 52 aircraft will be modernized, comprising 49 C-5Bs, two C-5Cs and a solitary C-5A. Dragon Warbirds has produced the original C-5 in model form before, but now comes the C-5M Super Galaxy for the first time. The model depicts a test aircraft that has a special nose containing flight-testing equipment. Detail is finely rendered, and the aircraft is made exactly to the correct scale dimensions. Naturally, the die-cast model features the required new GE engines that were fitted to the C-5M. This aircraft, with more power and greater efficiency, is now airborne in the Warbirds range from Dragon! 1/400 36.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW52012sm.jpg YB-49 Flying Wing, Metallic Skin. The Warbirds series from Dragon has contributed a novel new aircraft for the delectation of modelers! The new item is a 1/200 plastic scale model of the Northrop YB-49, a prototypical heavy bomber conceived soon after WWII. One look at the futuristic design will enable viewers to understand why it’s often referred to as the, Flying Wing. The YB-49 was a radical design, and Warbirds has created a model that is every bit as striking! What’s remarkable about this model is its incredibly lifelike “metallic skin”. The normal method to reproduce such a shiny finish would be to simply add a thin layer of metallic paint to the structure underneath. However, Dragon has adopted an entirely fresh approach for the YB-49 by employing an innovative new technology. In actual fact, the whole underlying raw material of this model is permeated by metallic silver coloring. The model doesn’t have an application of paint on its surfaces - for the entire model is silver -and this has resulted in an even more spectacular layering of shadows and highlights. This shiny model is simply dazzling, with its beauty being far more than just skin deep! 1/200 34.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW51030sm.jpg PLA J-20 Stealth Fighter Test Flight Heungtianba Airport Chengdu 2011. China stunned the world on 11 January 2011 with the maiden flight of its first ever stealth fighter, the J-20. The surprising disclosure of this new fifth-generation aircraft signals China’s bid to join the exclusive club of stealth-aircraft operators. The new single-seat fighter flew for 20 minutes after taking off from Heungtianba Airbase in Chengdu, and although its introduction into military service with the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) is still some years off, it’s a milestone for China and its manufacturer Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group. The J-20 is larger and heavier than the American F-22A Raptor, and it uses thrust vector-controlled nozzles (TVC) on its twin jet engines. Its large size allows internal weapons stowage, something essential for a stealth fighter. Even though the J-20 was only recently unveiled, Dragon Warbirds has produced an accurately dimensioned model of this groundbreaking fighter as it appeared during the Chengdu test flight. The highly detailed plastic model is made to 1/144 scale, and it’s authentically painted and carries the requisite PLAAF markings. Detail is crisp and sharply molded, and the length and size of this fighter is most impressive. Detailed landing gear is also included, and it can be exhibited on a modern-looking display stand. This is a stunning model of a stealth fighter that will soon serve in the ranks of a rising superpower. Not only is it Warbirds’ first ever J-20, it’s the very first Chinese subject in the range too! 1/144 19.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56340sm.jpg USAF KC-46A With A F-16C. Aerial refueling aircraft are extremely important force-multiplying assets for any self-respecting military force. They allow fighters and other aircraft to remain aloft for hours on end in order to accomplish far-ranging missions. The mightiest military in the world, the US Air Force (USAF), has many aerial refueling assets. These include KC-135E Stratotankers, aircraft that are now quite aged and in need of replacement. On 24 February 2011, the USAF declared the Boeing KC-767 as the winner of a competition for new aerial refueling aircraft. Based on the Boeing 767-200LRF, this aircraft will be called KC-46A in US service. It features an improved refueling boom taken from the KC-10, and this “NewGen Tanker” also borrows the cockpit display from the Boeing 787. The awarded contract calls for 18 KC-46 planes to be delivered by 2017. Quick off the mark, Dragon Warbirds now brings an exciting 1/400 scale model of Boeing’s NewGen tanker. As would be expected, the model makes use of Warbirds’ existing Boeing 767 molds, but it adds all the requisite parts to make the latest air-to-air refueling craft. As a special bonus for this release, a brand new 1/400 F-16C fighter is also included. Both USAF aircraft can be displayed flying together on a special stand. The KC-46A will be a very important asset in the USAF, just as this model will be in any aircraft collection! 1/400 36.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW50370sm.jpg Apollo 18 and Soyuz 19, ASTP, Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. The Cold War was marked by intense rivalry between the USA and the USSR. However, there was one noticeable abnormality in the usually tense relations between the two superpowers, and that was a joint space mission conducted in July 1975. Known as the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project (ASTP), it was the very first joint space flight between the competitors. The mission, which entailed an Apollo spacecraft docking with a Soyuz craft, allowed the crew commanders to shake hands in space on 17 July 1975. Crews were able to perform joint experiments and share gifts while they were linked in orbit for a period of 44 hours. The docking required a specially designed docking module known as APAS-75. Interestingly, the ASTP was the final Apollo mission, and although it didn’t have an official number, it’s often referred to as Apollo 18. Although the ASTP was primarily symbolic, one of the practical benefits was the engineering experience gained for future Shuttle/Mir and International Space Station programs. This historic moment in space is the subject of a new 1/72 scale model in Dragon’s Space Collection. The fully finished model is highly detailed, and it shows the two spacecraft docked as they orbit the Earth. In fact, the miniature is made even more special by the fact that this is the first Soyuz craft in Dragon’s range. Its appearance, as well as that of new-tooled Apollo 18, is accurately depicted. Commemorate this historic détente in space with this 1/72 scale Apollo-Soyuz double act! 1/72 59.95 LIMITED STOCK

This unique unmanned craft serves as a demonstrator for reusable space technologies. Beginning life as a NASA project in 1999, it was transferred to the Department of Defense (DoD) five years later. The milestone orbital mission of this Boeing-managed program took place on 22 April 2010, after being hurled into orbit by an Atlas V rocket. It remained in orbit until 3 December, although the X-37B is able to remain in orbit for 270 days. The X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) remains a classified project being undertaken by DARPA, although part of its remit is to perform space support missions such as rendezvousing with friendly satellites for refueling or repairs. DRW50388sm.jpg Dragon’s announcement of a new Space Collection item at the Tokyo Hobby Show created a huge buzz! The cause was a 1/72 scale replica of a Saturn V rocket. We can’t say it’s a miniature model, for it’s absolutely enormous even in 1/72 scale! Indeed, the fully built-up model stands 1.5m tall (59 Inches). As the longest, heaviest and most powerful rocket ever produced, the original Saturn V stood 110.6m high and had a diameter of 10.1m. The Saturn V was at the heart of NASA’s Apollo and Skylab programs between 1967 and 1973. It was able to launch a 45-tonne payload into space beyond Low Earth Orbit. A total of 13 Saturn V launches took place, every one of them a success, and they safely delivered 24 astronauts to the Moon. As impressive as the real Saturn rocket system is, viewers of this Space Collection item from Dragon will cause jaws to drop and draw gasps of astonishment! While the model makes use of the Command/Service Module (CSM) and Launch Escape System produced earlier, the rest of this monstrous 1/72 scale rocket comes from brand new toolings. All the relevant detail is carefully reproduced on the three rocket stages, and the completed model comes with accurate painting and markings. The Saturn V is most suitable for display at home as a centerpiece of any space fan’s collection. It comes with a stable circular base to allow it to be freestanding on the floor. DRW50390sm.jpg DECEMBER RELEASE: Gemini Spacecraft w/Spacewalker. Project Gemini encompassed two unmanned and ten manned spaceflights from 1964-66. The NASA program was designed to develop space travel techniques with a view to putting man on the Moon under the subsequent Apollo project. One of the highlights of Gemini IV was the first American spacewalk, which occurred on 3 June 1965. On that occasion the astronaut performed the first ever extravehicular activity (EVA) lasting 23 minutes. All ten Gemini missions blasted off aboard Titan II rocket systems from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Dragon’s newest 1/72 scale Space Collection model commemorates these groundbreaking Gemini spaceflights. The model includes a Gemini spacecraft as well as a spacewalking astronaut. The capsule could carry two astronauts, and indeed this model boasts two crewmen. The craft is based on the Gemini craft previously released (Item No.50385) but it features special modifications. The hatch is shown open, allowing a good view of the interior of the cramped spacecraft. The two astronauts are extremely well sculpted in this scale – one is performing a spacewalk whilst tied to his 8m-long tether, and the other is monitoring proceedings from inside the capsule. Such a legendary scene has been captured poignantly in this fine new model! 1/72 33.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW50394sm.jpg Mercury Spacecraft, Friendship 7. February 2012 will mark the anniversary of NASA’s first ever manned orbital flight, which occurred 50 years ago. Dragon is celebrating this auspicious event with a 1/72 scale model of the spacecraft that performed this legendary feat. An Atlas LV-3B launch vehicle blasted off from Cape Canaveral on 20 February 1962 carrying a spacecraft known as Mercury Friendship 7. The flight lasted a mere four hours and 56 minutes, circling the globe three times at a velocity of 7,843m/s before the capsule reentered orbit. The sole occupant of the NASA mission was astronaut John Glenn and the Friendship 7 craft eventually splashed down safely in the Atlantic Ocean. Although the Soviets had performed the same feat the previous year, it was an important step for NASA in the race to put man on the Moon. Today this famous spacecraft remains on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C. Dragon’s 1/72 scale model depicts the Mercury-6 spacecraft at its launch. The model of call sign “Friendship 7” is accurately constructed and painted, and the correct series of markings are in place. With the miniature model’s release coinciding with the flight’s 50th anniversary, this is the perfect item for space fans to commemorate this important milestone in the history of American, and world, spaceflight. 1/72 26.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

DRW50397sm.jpg Apollo 15 ( J-Mission ) Command & Service Module ( CSM ). The fourth American space mission to land on the Moon was Apollo 15, and it was conducted from 26 July to 7 August 1971 after a Saturn V rocket blasted the spacecraft into orbit. NASA described the mission as the “most successful manned flight” up till that point. This was because Apollo 15 was the first of what are described as “J missions”. A “J mission” was one that permitted a longer stay on the Moon’s surface to allow more intensive scientific experimentation and exploration. The Lunar Module (LM) with callsign Falcon stayed three days on the lunar surface and the two astronauts spent a total of 18.5 hours outside their craft over the course of three moonwalks. Apollo 15 also witnessed the first use of the Lunar Roving Vehicle, its top speed of 12km/h allowing the crew to foray much further afield from their LM. Simultaneously, the Command/Service Module (CSM) named Endeavour took a number of readings and photographs as it circled the Moon while awaiting the return of the LM. The latest addition to Dragon’s immensely popular Space Collection is a 1/72 model of the Apollo 15 CSM performing its space mission. The spacecraft has brand new parts, and it’s delivered fully finished and pre-painted so as to be ready for immediate display. A notable visual feature of the model is the distinctive antennas. As well as the steerable S-band high-gain (deep space) antenna for communications with Earth, there is a long HF dipole center-feed antenna. On the original craft, this retractable antenna measured some 80 feet in length. The Yagi seven-element antenna used for VHF communications is also mounted on the CSM. This Apollo 15 model performing its very first “J Mission” will add something special to any collection! 1/72 42.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

DRW50403sm.jpg Redstone Rocket w/Mercury Spacecraft, 1:72nd. Scale. NASA modified a Redstone missile to create a 25.5m-long manned space launch vehicle that was designed to carry astronauts into space. The Redstone was selected because of its good safety record, and an upgraded Rocketdyne engine was combined with a Mercury spacecraft. The first Mercury-Redstone (MR-1) launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida occurred in late 1960 but it only got four inches off the launch pad! However, on 31 January 1961, with Ham the Chimp aboard, MR-2 completed a suborbital flight. Upon being recovered, the chimpanzee happily ate an apple and half an orange! However, it wasn’t until 5 May 1961 that the first American astronaut, Alan Shepard, traveled into space on the third Mercury-Redstone mission (MR-3). This American success came just three weeks after the Russian cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin, performed the world’s first orbital spaceflight. An almost identical NASA mission with Virgil Grissom aboard blasted off on 21 July later that year. These missions were so successful that two further Mercury-Redstone flights were cancelled. Dragon’s Space Collection now features a 1/72 scale readymade model of the successful Mercury-Redstone combination. The full rocket launch system is captured perfectly in miniature, and the Redstone rocket stems from all-new toolings. This replica is impressive to look at, measuring 34cm from its stable circular display stand to the tip of its escape tower. Its size makes it perfect for desktop display. DRW52501sm.jpg 1/48 true-to-scale precision model, Displayable die-cast spacecraft with high collectable value, Aesthetically pleasing color finish with delicate imprinted markings. Apollo 11 is one of the most famous space mission of all time. It was this specific spaceflight that put man on the Moon for the first time more than 40 years ago. The momentous event occurred on July 20, 1969 as millions of TV viewers around the world watched with anticipation. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin Jr were the two American astronauts to walk on the lunar soil of the southern Sea of Tranquility. They arrived aboard the Lunar Module (LM) that had been christened Eagle in honor of the bald eagle, the national bird of the USA. Eagle spent a total of 21.5 hours on the Moon’s “magnificently desolate” surface, before it then whisked them back to rendezvous with the Columbia Command/Service Module (CSM) that was orbiting above in preparation for their return to Earth. Dragon’s Space Collection had previously produced a terrifically detailed 1/72 scale model of the LM connected to the CSM, but now things have got even better! How? Because for the first time, the Lunar Module is being offered in 1/48 scale. This larger scale permits even more detail to be incorporated into the miniature Apollo 11 spacecraft. Not only that, but the LM comes as a separate item, offering greater scope for it to be set in a lunar diorama scene. Alternatively, the model works extremely well as a stand alone desktop decoration. With the touchdown of this new 1/48 scale LM from Dragon, the Eagle has well and truly landed! 1/48 44.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW52503sm.jpg Apollo 11, Command Service Module (CSM), 1/48 true-to-scale precision model. Displayable die-cast spacecraft with high collectable value, Aesthetically pleasing color finish with delicate imprinted markings. Apollo 11 is probably the most famous space mission of all time. It was this specific spaceflight that put man on the Moon for the first time more than 50 years ago. The momentous event occurred on 20 July 1969 as millions of TV viewers around the world watched with bated breath. The Lunar Module (LM) known as Eagle safely landed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin Jr on lunar soil for the first time. During the 21.5 hours that Eagle rested on the Moon, the Command/Service Module (CSM) was orbiting above with astronaut Michael Collins aboard. The CSM was named Columbia after Columbiad, the giant cannon-shell craft that was fired to the Moon in Jules Verne’s novel “From the Earth to the Moon”. After the Moon landing, Eagle’s ascent stage successfully docked with the CSM before the crew began its return voyage to Earth. Dragon’s Space Collection is now proud to offer a 1/48 scale fully built-up model of the CSM, which comes after the release of the earlier 1/72 version. This larger scale permits a stunning level of detail to be incorporated into the Apollo 11 module, with features such as photo-etched radar antennas. The miniature is fully painted, and metal-skinned parts are beautifully captured. The CSM also carries accurate markings and logos. Thanks to the sleek metal display stand, the model works extremely well as a standalone desktop decoration. The launch of this new 1/48 scale Apollo 11 CSM from Dragon will have space fans over the moon! FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE LOWER 48 STATES, OUR CHOICE OF SHIPPING CARRIER. 1/48 64.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56228sm.jpg 1:400 Scale Titan IIIC w/Launch Pad. The Titan family of expendable rockets was extremely successful, with a total of 368 rockets launched between 1959 and 2005. One of the rockets from this family was the Titan IIIC, this being a space booster used for US Air Force (USAF) missions. This rocket built by Martin Marietta first flew on 18 June 1965, and its final flight was in 1982. The Titan IIIC was indispensable in launching large payloads into space, serving as the largest unmanned space booster until the Titan IV entered service in 1988. A 13.1-tonne payload could be sent into a low-earth orbit, or 3 tonnes could be sent into a geosynchronous transfer orbit. One of the Titan IIIC’s strengths was its flexibility, for it could utilize no upper stage, or one of two optional stages. This meant the 42m-long rocket could carry a variety of payloads depending on the mission. 1/400 29.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56230sm.jpg Ariane 5G w/Launch Pad. The European Space Agency (ESA) may not be as well known as NASA, but it also maintains an active space program. The primary space rocket it uses is the Ariane 5, which is produced by prime contractor Astrium, a company belonging to EADS. The Ariane 5 workhorse is an extendable launch system that can deliver payloads into geostationary or low Earth orbits. Three major satellites can be launched simultaneously, and up to eight secondary payloads can be carried too. Although the first Ariane 5 test flight in June 1996 was a failure, it has since completed a total of 58 launches. The most recent was in May 2011, with all launches taking place in French Guiana in South America. During its lifetime, Ariane 5 has been modified until reaching the current standard of Ariane 5 ES (standing for “Evolution Storable”). It uses two non-reusable solid rocket boosters to launch it into space, each weighing about 277 tonnes. The Ariane 5 is set to continue serving European needs until at least 2015. 1/400 26.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56232sm.jpg Titan IIIC MOL Gemini Spacecraft w/Launch Pad. Dragon has previously offered a fine model of a Titan IIIC rocket (Item No.56341). The Titan IIIC acted as a space booster primarily for US Air Force (USAF) missions. Now comes another 1/400 scale variation of the Titan family of expendable rockets, a Titan IIIC carrying a Manned Orbital Laboratory (MOL) payload The MOL was a space station designed to perform military reconnaissance tasks for the USA. The MOL program was announced in 1963, and crews would return from the space station via a Gemini 2 spacecraft. Only one launch was completed in the MOL program, before the program was axed in December 1969. On November 3 1966, a Titan IIIC blasted off from Cape Canaveral with a MOL mockup built from a Titan II propellant tank. The MOL, entered orbit and released three satellites, while the Gemini 2 reentry vehicle separated and performed a 33-minute suborbital test flight. This was actually Gemini 2’s second flight after a first one occurred in 1965. Dragon Wings has a 1/400 scale model of this Titan IIIC from the MOL program. Its appearance is quite distinct from earlier Space Collection models of the Titan IIIC and IIIE, and the model boasts new toolings for the main rocket body and the MOL mock-up. The rocket is highly accurate and is fully detailed, including the two huge strap-on solid boosters. The model is pre-painted and carries the correct series of USAF markings. Furthermore, the scale model comes with its own launch pad, thus creating an instant diorama. 1/400 26.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56238sm.jpg 1/400 Delta II, 7920 The USA planned to phase out all expendable launch vehicles (ELV) after the Space Shuttle entered service. However, the Challenger accident of 1986 changed all that, and the Delta program was restarted. Termed Delta II, these rockets have made nearly 150 successful launches since 1989, making it the most reliable system in service. Originally built by McDonnell Douglas, production for both US government and commercial entities is now the responsibility of United Launch Alliance (ULA). As an ELV, each rocket can only be launched once. A Delta II rocket consists of Stage I tanks, solid rocket boosters, interstage, Stage II tanks, optional Stage III rocket motor, and finally the payload fairing (nose cone). Among the Delta II’s missions are the launching of GPS Block II satellites, Iridium satellites, and several Mars missions for NASA. The latter includes the Mars Phoenix lander in 2007. The future of the Delta II space rocket is uncertain beyond 2011 once the Medium Launch Vehicle 3 contract with the US Air Force expires, but despite this it has proved a hugely successful design to date. 1 left!! 1/400 29.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW56240sm.jpg A2 Soyuz TMA-3 Rocket. Along with the USA and China, Russia continues to invest heavily in space programs via the Russian Federal Space Agency. Indeed, it regularly launches flights to service the International Space Station (ISS) that orbits the Earth at an average altitude of 370km. Dragon’s newest model in its exciting Space Collection represents one of the Soyuz family of rockets used by Russia. Specifically it’s Soyuz TMA-3, the third flight of the TMA type. With three international astronauts (a Russian, American and Spaniard) aboard, the spacecraft blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on 18 October 2003. It coupled with the Docking Module/Compartment Pirs of the ISS on two days later before safely returning to Earth on 29 April 2004. Soyuz TMA-3 had been in orbit for 195 days. Designed for the operational parameters of the ISS, the Soyuz-FG is the only vehicle that Russia has used to send missions to the Space Station since late 2002. Dragon’s fully built-up and pre-painted Space Collection model is manufactured precisely to 1/400 scale, which allows full detail to be incorporated without making it overly cumbersome in size. With American, Japanese and European rockets already featuring in the Dragon Space Collection, it was essential that Russia also be represented. Thus the new A2 Soyuz TMA-3 stems from entirely new molds. With the manned spacecraft mounted on its Soyuz-FG launch vehicle, the rocket’s appearance is quite different to Western systems. With its good looks and precision molding, it will definitely be soaring into numerous model collections worldwide. 1/400 34.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

As an ELV, each rocket can only be launched once. Among the Delta II’s missions are launching GPS Block II satellites, Iridium satellites, and several Mars missions for NASA. Delta rockets, including the 7000 series that includes both (Light’ and “Heavy) variants, are given a four-digit code depending on their exact configuration. For example, a (Delta II 7925 Heavy) refers to a vehicle that has an RS-27A-engined first stage, nine graphite-epoxy motor (GEM) boosters, a second stage powered by an Aerojet AJ10 engine, and a Payload Assistance Module (PAM) third stage. The “Heavy” designation refers to the fact that the system employs the larger GEM-46 boosters that were originally intended for the Delta III. Dragon Space series has launched a fine model of such a Delta II 7925 Heavy rocket. Made to 1/400 scale, it accurately replicates this common launch configuration. The model is sharply molded and finished in the correct colors. DRW56371sm.jpg Space Shuttle, (Columbia), w/SRB (STS-1) - Memorable Missions of Space Shuttle. The Space Shuttle fleet may have been retired by NASA, but Dragon is re-launching all the craft in miniature form! Although not the first Space Shuttle to be built, Columbia holds the distinction of being the first to fly into space. Designated by NASA as OV-102, its maiden launch occurred on 12 April 1981. In all, the craft spent some 300 days in space, orbited the Earth an astonishing 4,808 times, and traveled more than 200 million kilometers! Columbia performed 27 successful flights before the 28th ended in disaster on 1 February 2003. During re-entry after a 16-day mission, damage to the heat-resistant surface of a wing leading edge resulted in destruction of the wing and the breakup of the entire craft. All seven crewmembers perished in the incident. This second fatal accident ultimately led to the decision to retire the Space Shuttle fleet in 2010. The 1/400 scale model is finely detailed. It comes complete with the large External Tank (ET) and the two Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB) that provided 83% of the thrust needed to launch the Orbiter into space for the very first time in 1981. The complete system for this maiden manned test flight was known as STS-1. For convenient display, the model rests on a new stand. Thus, STS-1 can be vertically displayed as it appeared at launch from Pad A, Launch Complex 39 at the Kennedy Space Centre. This was the opening chapter of the Space Shuttle program, and collectors can commemorate Columbia with this fine model. 1/400 59.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

DRW56372sm.jpg Space Shuttle, Challenger, w/SRB STS-41B - Memorable Missions of Space Shuttle. The reusable Space Shuttles designed for NASA and built by Rockwell International were revolutionary in nature and left a lasting legacy in space exploration. The second Space Shuttle to enter service was Challenger (designated OV-099), and it undertook its maiden flight on 4 April 1983. Challenger was the workhorse of the Shuttle fleet, and indeed in 1983-84 it performed 85% of all missions. Its impressive résumé included three Skylab missions, the first Shuttle night launch and landing, and putting the first female American and African-American into space. It successfully completed nine missions before its tenth mission ended in sudden disaster on 28 January 1986. Dragon’s second 1/400 scale model of a Space Shuttle depicts Challenger prior to one of its many significant missions. Named STS-41-B, this flight launched from Kennedy Space Center on 3 February 1984, and it was Challenger’s fourth flight. On the fourth day of the mission, mission specialists Bruce McCandless II and Robert Stewart performed the first untethered spacewalk, operating the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) during the process. McCandless ventured 98m from Challenger. The model includes the Challenger Orbiter, External Tank (ET) and two Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB). The STS-41-B model can be vertically mounted on a convenient display stand so that launch configuration can be replicated. This is a finely crafted model from Dragon of a very famous spacecraft. 1/400 59.95 PRE-ORDER DUE FEBRUARY 2012

DRW56373sm.jpg Space Shuttle (Discovery) w/SRB STS-124 - Memorable MIssion of Space Shuutle. The third Space Shuttle to foray into space was Discovery (designated OV-103), its maiden flight occurring on 30 August 1984. A contract for construction of Discovery was awarded to Rockwell International in January 1979 and it rolled out in October 1983. Interestingly, it was 3,120kg lighter than Columbia thanks to construction savings realized after building the three earlier Shuttles. In its 27-year lifespan, Discovery completed 39 successful missions for NASA. Among its accomplishments was spending a cumulative total of 365 days in space, placing the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit, and launching the Ulysses Probe. It traveled 238 million kilometers through space, in the process orbiting Earth 5,830 times. After such a stellar career, it was thus fitting that Discovery should be the first Space Shuttle to enter retirement, something that occurred on 9 March 2011. As part of Dragon’s re-launch of the complete Space Shuttle fleet in 1/400 scale model form, the third item to be released is Discovery. The actual model portrays the spacecraft as it appeared during STS-124, a flight to the International Space Station (ISS). This mission blasted off from the Kennedy Space Center on 31 May 2008 and returned to Earth on 14 June. On its 35th flight, Discovery delivered to the ISS the Pressurized Module of the Japanese Experiment Module (JEM) as well as an associated robotic arm. The model is finely detailed and is impressive as it’s attached to the enormous External Tank (ET) and two Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB). For convenient display, the whole assembly comes with its own stand. Space fans can now launch their own journey of Discovery with this fully finished model! 1/400 59.95 PRE-ORDER DUE MARCH 2012

More recently, a CZ-2F rocket launched the Tiangong 1 (the name translates as “heavenly palace”) space laboratory module into low earth orbit on 29 September 2011. CZ-2F-T1 blasted off from the South Launch Site of the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre. Later, an unmanned Shenzhou spacecraft twice rendezvoused and docked with Tiangong 1 in early November, an important step in China’s aim to establish a fully functioning space station. This space lab will deorbit in 2013, to be replaced by newer modules. Dragon Space Collection allows modelers to celebrate this historic milestone in China’s technological march through a brand new 1/400 scale model of the rocket system. This rocket represents Chinese technological prowess and the nation’s space aspirations, and the CZ-2F-T1, which is a completely new tooling, does the subject justice. Dragon has released many notable 1/400 scale models of systems such as the Atlas, Titan, Delta, H-IIA and Ariane, and now the Chinese type is proudly represented too. DRW51017sm.jpg Dragon Lady, 9RW, USAF U-2R. Despite its advancing age, the U-2 “Dragon Lady” continues to fly high-altitude all-weather reconnaissance missions for the US Air Force (USAF) even today. Built by Lockheed, the U-2 is powered by a single engine, and its high-aspect-ratio wings and light construction resemble that of a glider. While its particular planform is required by the high altitudes at which the aircraft flies, this also makes it very difficult to operate. Indeed, the U-2 has to be flown at near maximum speed to avert stalling. Landing is a particularly hazardous undertaking as it uses bicycle-type landing gear and titanium skids on its wingtips. It can fly at altitudes of 21,000m, requiring the pilot to wear the equivalent of a spacesuit. The U-2R (initially known as the TR-1A) is a modified U-2C featuring larger under-wing “superpods” and increased fuel capacity. The type first flew in 1967, and the final example was delivered to the USAF in October 1989. It is powered by a Pratt & Whitney J75 turbojet engine, and a total of twelve U-2R Dragon Ladies were built. Various surveillance and intelligence-gathering sensors are carried onboard. This specific variant of the Dragon Lady is the subject of Warbirds’ new 1/144 scale die-cast model. It’s exciting as it’s a brand new design made from completely new toolings. The long, slim fuselage and outspread wings are accurately reproduced. Panel lines are finely engraved on it. With a wingspan of more than 210mm in this scale, this is a truly impressive model. To enable it to be presented to best advantage, it comes with a sleek metal display stand. This high-altitude recon aircraft is rarely seen, but collectors can now get their very own U-2R at desktop level! 1/144 34.95 PRE-ORDER DUE FEBRUARY 2012

The rocket-powered X-15 reached the very edge of outer space, and today it still holds the world record for the fastest speed attained by a manned rocket-powered aircraft. Its fastest recorded speed was Mach 6.72, equating to 7,274km/h. This hypersonic spaceplane was produced by North American Aviation and Reaction Motors, the latter manufacturing the XLR-99 rocket engine. A total of three X-15s were made, and 199 flight tests were conducted from 1959 to 1968. These flights contributed much to American knowledge about aircraft and spacecraft design. For its flight tests, the 15.45m-long X-15 was carried under the wing of a B-52 operated by NASA, and then released at an altitude of nearly 14km. 1/144 27.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRW51031sm.jpg North American X-15 No.3, Little Joe The II. The experimental X-15 built by North American Aviation was an astonishing craft. It was both an aircraft and a spaceplane, setting speed and altitude records at the edge of outer space in the 1960s. Such was its performance that some pilots could also hold claim to being astronauts. Even today, the hypersonic X-15 holds the record for the fastest ever manned rocket-powered aircraft at a top speed of Mach 6.32 (a staggering 7,274km/h). Latterly it was powered by a single XLR99 jet engine made by Reaction Motors Inc. To begin its flights, a NASA B-52 would carry the experimental craft aloft before releasing it at an altitude of approximately 14km. Three X-15 aircraft were manufactured and test-flown 199 times, thus creating invaluable data that would help future aircraft and space programs. Dragon Warbirds has produced a new 1/144 scale X-15 model that is different to all others that have gone before! This item represents the third prototype known as X-15-3 (serial no. 56-6672). The craft made 64 powered flights before it was tragically lost in an accident during Flight 191 on 15 November 1967. However, the Warbirds miniature represents X-15-3 as it appeared for pilot Joe Walker’s record-breaking Flight 91 on 22 August 1963. Walker was to reach an altitude of 108km, at the very edge of outer space. For that occasion the X-15 was decorated with nose art and the name “Little Joe the II”. This model captures perfectly the cylindrical form of the X-15 with its thick dorsal and ventral stabilizers. It also carries the correct NASA markings and the aforementioned nose art. It was extremely rare for research aircraft to carry nose art, so this makes the model even more distinctive. 1/144 31.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

DRW51028sm.jpg Douglas X-3 Stiletto, Edwards AFB (Contain 2 replicas). Continuing on with Dragon Warbird’s collection of experimental aircraft is a 1/144 scale model of the X-3 jet aircraft. Developed by Douglas Aircraft Company from 1949 onwards, the sleek X-3 Stiletto was designed for sustained supersonic speeds. The X-3 employed titanium and low-aspect ratio wings, and the first prototype was delivered in September 1952, with the first flight occurring the following month. Eventually a total of 51 X-3 flights took place. However, the pair of Westinghouse J34 turbojet engines was not powerful enough so it never actually reached Mach 1 in straight flight! The effort wasn’t wasted though, as data obtained from the X-3 was used to produce the F-104 Starfighter. The lone X-3 Stiletto is on display at the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. The Dragon Warbirds model captures perfectly the sleek lines of this experimental design, and two complete 1/144 scale models are included in the set. One model is a fully finished replica while the other has transparent exterior parts that reveal some of the craft’s innards. The latter model provides aviation enthusiasts with a new appreciation for this futuristic aircraft design. All details are accurately rendered, plus an “S”-shaped display stand made of metal is included. This allows the exterior and interior of the models to be shown off side by side. Only one X-3 Stiletto was ever built, but now Warbirds offers you two! 1/144 34.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60583

DRR60583sm.jpg IJN Type 2, Ka-Mi, Amphibious Tank (Combat Version), The 5th Naval Ground Base Guard (II), Saipan June 1944. Dragon earlier produced a simply stunning 1/35 scale Smart Kit of the Japanese Type 2 “Ka-Mi” amphibious tank, and now the company has used it as a platform to create a 1/72 Dragon Armor version. The Type 2 was the first amphibious tank used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN). It was designed for Japanese landing forces performing amphibious invasions of Pacific islands that didn’t have regular port facilities. Production commenced in 1942 and a total of 184 Type 2 amphibious tanks were made, although the design was really too late to participate in Japan’s island-hopping campaign. When used in water, large pontoons were attached to the glacis plate and rear deck to give it a top speed of 10km/h. These pontoons could be shed as soon as it reached land. The turret featured a 3.7cm Type 1 gun and coaxial Type 97 machine gun. Dragon Armor’s 1/72 scale model is extremely accurate, as it’s based on measurements taken from a surviving tank on Peleliu (present-day Palau). The tank is shown without its flotation pontoons, and it represents a vehicle from the 5th Naval Base Ground Guard (II). This unit was based in Saipan in the Mariana Islands, and it was heavily involved in the pivotal fighting there from 15 June-9 July 1944. Although it’s a very small model, it’s rich with detail. The vehicle’s period “battleship gray” color tone is authentically reproduced, as are the eye-catching IJN flags painted on the turret. This is a swimmingly good miniature of a fascinating subject! 1/72 27.95 PRE-ORDER DUE MARCH 2012

DRR60591sm.jpg Churchill Mk.III, 48th Royal Tank Regiment ""Sprinter IV"", England 1942. The Churchill infantry tank is a most distinctive design with its extremely long chassis and wraparound tracks. Named after the British minister of defense of the time, the Churchill tank was very well armored. It was produced in a series of versions that offered thicker armor and more powerful armament as the war progressed. The Mk.III, weighing in at 39,626kg, arrived on the scene in March 1942. It featured a 6-pounder gun in the all-welded turret, and the hull-mounted howitzer fitted in previous variants was deleted. Its baptism of fire was in the Second Battle of El Alamein in October 1942, plus the Mk.III was also famously involved in the failed landing at Dieppe in northern France. As part of its prodigious output of brand new 1/72 scale toolings, Dragon Armor has issued a model of the Churchill Mk.III. This is Dragon Armor’s very first Churchill, and indeed it’s also the very first British-designed tank of WWII to feature in the series. To create this mark, the correct turret and auxiliary fuel tank are present. It’s finished in an unusual, but typical of the 1942 period, coat of khaki brown paint. This color was known officially as Standard Camouflage Colour 2 (S.C.C. No.2). This tank belonging to the 48th Royal Tank Regiment (48 RTR) carries the name “Sprinter IV” on both sides of the turret. For modelers wishing to strengthen their tank regiments and to get their hands on something British, this “outstandingly brown” Churchill is a must-have item! 1/72 25.95 PRE-ORDER DUE FEBRUARY 2012

DRR60488sm.jpg 1/72 Sd. Kfz. 251/22 Ausf. D 79. Pz. Artillery. Regt 7. Pz. Div. Gdynia 1945, Germany made heavy use of armored halftracks in WWII. The most numerous was the Sd.Kfz.251, with 15,252 units produced by the war’s end. The final version was known as the Ausf.D, which was produced from early 1943 onwards to simplify and speed up construction. It did so by halving the number of angled plates needed to form the hull. The famous Sd.Kfz.251 halftrack has appeared in Dragon Armor’s 1/72 line of military vehicles models before, but now it comes in a new guise, that of the Sd.Kfz.251/22. This particular Sd.Kfz.251/22 variant mounted a 7.5cm PaK40 gun in what was formerly the halftrack’s troop compartment. Production commenced in December 1944, the aim being to increase as rapidly as possible Germany’s inventory of self-propelled antitank guns. The mounted gun could traverse a total of 38º, and elevate from -3º to 22º. Part of the roof was removed to accommodate the cannon, and there was also room for 22 ammo rounds in the rear. The Sd.Kfz.251/22 was operated by a crew of four men. This is Dragon Armor’s first depiction of this impressive-looking weapon, and it is expected to be an extremely hot item in the 2011 collection. The fully built-up model is portrayed in the colors and markings of 79.Pz.Artillery.Regt, a unit of the 7th Panzer Division. After magnificent successes under General Erwin Rommel in France, this famous “Ghost Division” spent most of the war fighting on the Eastern Front. The actual vehicle the model is based on fought in Gdynia, Eastern Pomerania, in present-day Poland. 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

Germany made heavy use of armored halftracks in WWII, the most numerous being the Sd.Kfz.251, with 15,252 units produced by the war’s end. The final version was known as the Ausf.D, which was manufactured from early 1943 onwards to simplify and speed up construction. It did so by halving the number of angled plates needed to form the hull. Dragon Armor’s 1/72 line brings another Sd.Kfz.251 halftrack in the guise of the Sd.Kfz.251/22, which mounted a 7.5cm PaK 40 gun in the halftrack’s troop compartment. Production commenced in December 1944, the aim being to increase as rapidly as possible Germany’s inventory of self-propelled antitank guns. The mounted cannon could traverse a total of 38º, and elevate from -3º to 22º. Part of the roof was removed to accommodate the cannon, and there was also room for 22 ammo rounds in the rear. The Sd.Kfz.251/22 was operated by a crew of four. This is Dragon Armor’s second depiction of this impressive-looking halftrack. The fully built-up model is portrayed in a late-war three-color camouflage scheme. Although the original Sd.Kfz.251/22 Ausf.D that the model is based upon harks from an unidentified unit fighting in Germany in 1945, this does not detract from the accuracy of this 1/72 scale model. All details such as the PaK 40 cannon and open-topped fighting compartment are present. With its late-war camouflage scheme, this is one impressive-looking self-propelled antitank gun! 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60428sm.jpg CLOSEOUT , LOW STOCK SPECIAL: IJA Type 95 ""Ha-G?"" Light Tank, Co.2, 7th Tank Regiment, Philippines 1942. A scintillating new subject for the Dragon Armor series of 1/72 scale vehicles is the Type 95 Ha-Go light tank, a vehicle widely used in WWII. Weighing just 7.4 tonnes, it was designed primarily as an infantry support weapon. Indeed, it was the most common light tank used by the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) in the Pacific, with about 2,300 units manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. It had a crew of three, and the main armament was a Type 94 37mm gun. Its maximum speed was 45km/h. Dragon’s fully built-up model is brimming with eye-catching detail. From the running gear - with its intricate road wheels, idlers, sprockets and return rollers - to the turret and gun, this Type 95 is extremely accurate. Even the track links are accurately replicated in miniature. The model is finished in the colorful camouflage scheme and markings of a tank that participated in the invasion of the Philippines in 1942. This is an extremely exciting subject from Dragon Armor - the little Japanese tank is a simply stunning creation! 1/72 21.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60432sm.jpg IJA Type 97, Chi-Ha, Early Production, Co.4, 34th Tank Regiment, North China 1945. The 1/72 scale Japanese Type 97 Chi-Ha tank has proved an extremely popular Dragon Armor item. Now Dragon is adding an Early-Production variant to the collection, this time representing a vehicle fighting at the close of WWII. The Type 97 was Japan’s most widely produced medium tank of WWII. Boasting a 57mm main gun and two Type 97 machine guns, this tank was intended to serve as an up-scaled version of the Type 95 for infantry support. Armor protection was modest on this vehicle. A total of 2,123 Chi-Ha tanks were produced from 1938-43, most of which carried the low-velocity 57mm gun. The tank could move at a speed of 38km/h. One area where the Chi-Ha was deployed was China. Dragon Armor’s model depicts a tank belonging to the 4th Tank Company of the 34th Tank Regiment. This regiment belonging to the 1st Independent Tank Brigade was created in 1944; it was one of nine independent tank brigades formed at the end of WWII in Japan and northeast China to act as a mobile force. The 34th Tank Regiment spent the entirety of its short existence in China until the war ended. As well as being an Early-Production version, what stands out most on this model is the striking camouflage scheme consisting of three colors plus bright bands of yellow. Markings painted onto the hull suggest this tank was sponsored by members of the Japanese public, with the characters representing “patriotic”. This attractive item allows collectors to field another Japanese tank from WWII. 1/72 22.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60435sm.jpg IJA Type 97 ""Chi-Ha"" Late Production, 14th Independent Tank Company, Jeju-do 1945. The Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tank that Dragon Armor previously released was a very popular item. An extra version of this 1/72 scale tank is being added to the collection’s Japanese tank fleet in the form of a Late-Production variant. The Type 97 was Japan’s most widely produced medium tank of WWII. Boasting a short-barreled 57mm main gun and two Type 97 machine guns, this tank was intended to serve as an up-scaled version of the Type 95 for infantry support. Armor protection was modest on this vehicle. A total of 2,123 tanks were produced from 1938-43, although 930 of these were of the improved version featuring a higher-velocity 47mm gun. The tank could move at a speed of 38km/h. The Chi-Ha was used in combat in Manchuria and China, as well as fighting against the Allies. The new Dragon Armor model portrays a vehicle belonging to the 14th Independent Tank Company of the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA). This unit was hastily formed right at the end of WWII in response to fears of an invasion from the north by the Soviet Red Army. The 1/72 scale model depicts a tank deployed on Jeju Island (part of present-day South Korea) south of the Korean peninsular. The Late-Production Chi-Ha sports a two-color camouflage scheme plus unique lightning bolt markings on the turret. Japanese tanks of WWII don’t gain the attention that German ones usually do, so this model allows collectors to get further acquainted with a very important Japanese tank design 1/72 22.95 LIMITED STOCK

It also bristled with five .30-cal machine guns. A total of 510 LVT(A)-1 vehicles were eventually produced. It could achieve speeds of 12km/h in water, and the vehicle weighed 13,180kg. This important amtrac was used in such battles as Saipan, Guam, Tinian and Peleliu during the bloody Pacific campaign. Dragon has already successfully recreated the LVT(A)-1 in 1/72 scale as a plastic kit. This highly accurate kit forms the basis for Dragon Armor’s new fully built-up version of this vehicle. The miniature model boasts a complicated suspension system, as well as a well-detailed deck upon which even the weld seams are visible. The turret is also well constructed, and it boasts a hollowed-out gun muzzle. Painted in realistic colors and with a suitable amount of weathering, this LVT(A)-1 comes in the markings of the 708th Amphibious Tank Battalion. It represents an actual vehicle that participated in the capture of the Ryukyu Islands in 1945. This is a fine replica of an interesting American amphibious fire support vehicle, and it constitutes a welcome addition to the Dragon Armor collection. 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60522sm.jpg LVT-(A)1, Pacific Theater Operation 1945. The American Landing Vehicle Tracked (LVT) was a vital weapon in the Allied island-hopping campaign in the Pacific theater during WWII. As well as being used for carrying cargo as was originally intended, they were soon being used in the amphibious assault role too. The Amtrac allowed soldiers and Marines to reach enemy-held beaches, protecting them with armor and supporting them with their weapons. Based on the LVT-2 variant, the armored LVT(A)-1 was produced from 1942 onwards. As a fire support vehicle, it was fitted with an M3 tank-style turret mounting a 37mm M6 gun. It also featured a couple of machine guns, and a total of 510 units were manufactured. Dragon Armor already offers quite a wide variety of LVTs in its 1/72 scale range. However, this new LVT(A)-1 offers something a little different. Although the original vehicle’s exact unit of origin is unknown, the green-painted amtrac is known to have participated in the Pacific campaign during 1945. What sets it apart is the colorful illustration of a shark’s face on the bow plate. The illustration boasts a series of sharp teeth and two eyes designed to intimidate enemies. Although it cannot be ascertained what effect these markings had on Japanese defenders, it certainly is impressive in 1/72 scale. This is one model that collectors would like to set their eyes on and sink their teeth into. 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60577sm.jpg Neubau-Fahrzeug Nr.3-5 Pz.Abt.z.b.V.40, Norway 1940. Germany created many successful medium and heavy tanks such as the Panzer III, Panzer IV, Panther and Tiger. However, the nation’s first attempts at creating a heavy tank commenced in the early 1930s. Known as the Neubaufahrzeug (New Construction Vehicle), it was not a success, however. Slow-moving and boasting multiple turrets, it was ill equipped for the type of rapid, mobile warfare that Blitzkrieg tactics required. For this reason, only five Neubaufahrzeug heavy tanks were built. Their armament included a 7.5m KwK L/24 main gun, 3.7cm KwK L/45 cannon and two 7.92mm machine guns. The three 25.8-ton series-production tanks (numbers 3-5) that had been built in 1935-36 participated in the 1940 invasion of Norway within a specially formed Panzerabteilung called Pz.Abt.z.b.V.40.Dragon Armor is offering a 1/72 scale model of one of those tanks that saw action in Norway. Utilizing research and molds from the previously released plastic kit, this Neubaufahrzeug is impressive in its early-war camouflage colors of gray and brown. The model has also received white balkenkreuze markings as well as a distinctive elefant on the hull front. The three turrets are precisely replicated. This was one monster of a tank, and now modelers can own one with a Scandinavian flavor! 1/72 25.95 PRE-ORDER DUE JANUARY 2012

Germany’s first attempts at creating a heavy tank commenced in the early 1930s with a design known as the Neubaufahrzeug (“New Construction Vehicle”). It was not a success, however. Slow-moving and boasting multiple turrets, it was ill equipped for the type of rapid, mobile warfare that Blitzkrieg tactics required. For this reason, only five Neubau-Fahrzeug heavy tanks were ever built, the first two of which were prototypes. However, the three 25.8-ton series-production tanks (Numbers 3-5) that had been manufactured in 1935-36 participated in the 1940 invasion of Norway. They were deployed within a specially formed Panzerabteilung called Pz.Abt.z.b.V.40, but this was the extent of their wartime combat involvement. Their armament included a 7.5cm KwK L/24 main gun, 3.7cm KwK L/45 cannon and two 7.92mm machine guns. Dragon Armor is offering an impressive 1/72 scale model representing the production tanks. Utilizing research and molds from the previously released plastic kit, this miniature Neubau-Fahrzeug Nr.3-5 is impressive in its early-war camouflage color of panzer gray (dunkelgrau). The camouflage scheme is enhanced with white balkenkreuze markings as well as a distinctive number ‘10’ on the rear of the main turret. Dragon has produced several 1/35 scale plastic model kits featuring armored vehicles from the very popular Black Knight comic series in Japan. Now Dragon Armor is getting in on the act with an exciting array of 1/72 scale collectible items from the same Black Knight comics. The very first item is a Panther Ausf.G Early Production tank. Utilizing molds from previous 1/72 scale renditions of this famous German tank, the assembled model has been painted in an appropriate camouflage scheme just like the one that appears in the comic books. This model represents a Panther belonging to the Black Knight commander fighting in the Eastern Front in the autumn of 1944. The tank carries the distinctive unit tactical markings of the combat-hardened Black Knight unit. Another special feature of this finely detailed miniature is the dioramic card background fitted inside the display box. DRR60423sm.jpg 1/72 Sd. Kfz.222 Leichte Panzerspähwagen, Poland 1939. To support its mobile concept of modern warfare, Germany introduced a wide range of tracked and wheeled armored vehicles. One wheeled family of vehicles introduced in 1936 included 4x4 armored cars known as the Leichter Panzerspähwagen, which translates as “Light Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle.” Powered by a Horch engine, these vehicles were based on a Horch 801 heavy car chassis to which an armored body was added. It was armed with a 2cm KwK.30 L/55 cannon and MG34 machine gun in an open-topped turret. A crew of three operated the Sd.Kfz.222. In early-war campaigns such as the invasion of Poland it performed well as a reconnaissance vehicle for panzer divisions. Following the initial success of a 1/72 scale Sd.Kfz.222 model, Dragon Armor is now introducing a second vehicle. As before, the model has a superb level of detail. But this time it bears markings such as white crosses that were worn by vehicles fighting in Poland in 1939. Dragon Armor’s fully assembled Sd.Kfz.222 possesses all the detail expected of such a model. For example, the mesh screen covering the open-topped turret resorts to a photo-etched part to ensure it’s true to scale. The gun muzzle, too, is realistically hollowed out. The vehicle is finished in an accurate shade of ‘panzer gray’ camouflage paint from an unidentified unit in the Polish campaign. 1/72 22.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60498sm.jpg 1/72 Sd.Kfz.222 DAK, Deutsches Afrikakorps. Prior to WWII, Germany introduced a wide range of tracked and wheeled armored vehicles to equip its powerful military. One family of wheeled vehicles introduced in 1936 was the Leichter Panzerspähwagen (“Light Armored Reconnaissance Vehicle”). These vehicles were based on a Horch 801 heavy car chassis to which an armored body was added. Early in WWII they performed well as a reconnaissance vehicle for panzer divisions in Western Europe, the Balkans and North Africa. Dragon Armor is introducing a further Sd.Kfz.222 model from the Leichter Panzerspähwagen family. The Sd.Kfz.222 is armed with a 2cm KwK.30 cannon and MG34 machine gun in an open-topped turret. A crew of three operated the Sd.Kfz.222. Possessing a superb level of detail, Dragon Armor’s 1/72 scale model of the Sd.Kfz.222 is impressive in appearance. Different to previous releases, this model is finished in the sand-colored camouflage of the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) that fought in North Africa from February 1941 through to May 1943. The vehicle also bears the palm tree symbol common to DAK vehicles. The little model has been especially weighted with internal ballast to give it a more realistic and satisfying ‘feel’. Dragon Armor’s fully assembled Sd.Kfz.222 is full of detail such as a photo-etched mesh screen covering the open-topped turret and a hollow gun muzzle. This little DAK model is ready to rove across sand and desert! 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60513sm.jpg Sd.Kfz.223 Leichte Panzerspähwagen, Blitzkrieg 1940. The Sd.Kfz.221 Leichter Panzerspähwagen was a compact German 4x4 armored car, and in the early part of WWII the vehicle performed reconnaissance tasks for panzer divisions. Dragon Armor is offering a new item in the Leichter Panzerspähwagen family – the Sd.Kfz.223. This particular armored car was basically a modified Sd.Kfz.221 fitted with a long-range radio set. Its function is belied by the prominent frame antenna that was mounted above the hull. This radio allowed it to stay in touch with reconnaissance vehicles roving around the battlefield. A total of 550 Sd.Kfz.223 vehicles were made between 1935 and 1944. As on the Sd.Kfz.221, a machine gun was installed in the small turret. The 1/72 scale Sd.Kfz.223 is based upon the highly detailed plastic kit Dragon has released earlier. It may be diminutive in size, but this reconnaissance vehicle is brimming with details. The complex angled plates of the hull are accurately depicted, as is the distinctive frame antenna. Adding to the appeal of this Dragon Armor item is a set of jerry cans stowed on the vehicle’s nose to give it a longer range. The vehicle is finished in the standard panzer gray color of early-war German vehicles. This little armored car is the perfect vehicle to stay in touch with the other reconnaissance assets that collectors already have in their blitzkrieg forces! 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60427sm.jpg Kfz. 70 6x4 Personnel Carrier. Dragon Armor has come up with a fantastic new German soft-skin vehicle, the first ever in this exciting range! It is a 1/72 scale Krupp Protze truck, with this type of vehicle serving throughout WWII after mass production commenced in 1933. A total of about 7,000 trucks were produced up till 1942. This 6x4 vehicle was powered by an air-cooled 3.308-liter flat-four engine. The horizontal engine gave rise to the truck’s distinctive sharply sloped nose, and also to its nickname “Boxer”. The truck was used for all kinds of purposes, and it was commonly employed for towing light artillery pieces such as the 3.7cm Pak 35/36 antitank cannon. Dragon’s new model shows the truck in a slightly different configuration, however, that of a Kfz.70 Personnel Carrier. Utilizing detailed research and molds from a recently released 1/72 plastic scale kit of the Krupp Protze Kfz.70, this is certainly a delightful truck model. The fully built-up miniature incorporates full detail both above and below the chassis. For example, the wheels and independent coil spring suspension are masterfully represented. The Kfz.70 Personnel Carrier is finished in a typical camouflage scheme of early-war gray, and it is registered with its very own Wehrmacht “WH” number plate. This Dragon Armor item is an excellent representation of the 6x4 truck that was a workhorse of the German military during WWII. This first German soft-skin vehicle in the Dragon Armor collection is a fine companion to the wide range of German tanks and armored fighting vehicles released to date. 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

This type of vehicle served throughout WWII after mass production commenced in 1933. For example, the wheels and independent coil spring suspension are masterfully represented. The Kfz.70 Personnel Carrier is finished in a whitewash camouflage scheme so commonly encountered during winter on the Eastern Front. This scheme has been carefully brushed onto the truck, giving it a realistically worn look. This winterized Dragon Armor item is an excellent representation of the 6x4 truck that was a workhorse of the German military during WWII, and it’s a fine companion to Dragon Armor’s growing range of German soft-skin vehicles. 1/72 26.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60502sm.jpg Eastern Front 1943, 1/72 Heavy Uniform Personnel Vehicle Type 40. Dragon Armor recently launched a fully built-up 1/72 scale model of the Schwere Einheits PKW A.U. Horch painted in an early-war panzer gray color (Item No.60430). Now a second version of this soft-skin vehicle is available to collectors. The 4x4 heavy car was produced by Auto Union and Horch from 1938 onwards, and it served in all theaters of WWII. The original Type 1a had four-wheel steering, while the later Type 1b produced from 1940 onwards had regular front-wheel steering. This vehicle possessed four-wheel drive, but production ceased in 1941 as part of German efforts to standardize production. The personnel carrier was powered by a V8 Horch engine of 3.823-liter capacity. Dragon Armor’s 1/72 scale miniature version naturally makes use of the new toolings created in the earlier release. The open-topped body containing three bench seats (able to accommodate five passengers and the driver) is full of detail. Even the tread pattern on the floor plate is replicated! There is also an MG34 machine gun provided on a pintle mount for antiaircraft duties. The model beautifully captures the look and stance of the Horch 4x4 heavy car, and the windscreen employs transparent plastic. The vehicle from an unidentified unit fighting on the Eastern Front is finished in a three-color camouflage pattern, while small details like the license plate are also present. 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60473sm.jpg T-34/76 Mod. 1941, 1st Guards Armored Brigade, Eastern Front 1942. The Russian T-34 tank is credited with being one of the most effective and influential tank designs of WWII. Such was the versatility of the T-34 design that it remained in production all the way through to 1958 in a couple of places outside the USSR! Dragon Armor is offering an early version of this famous medium tank, a T-34/76 Mod.1941 vehicle. This 26.5-ton main production variant was armed with a 76.2mm F-34 gun, for which 77 rounds were carried. Its armor was thicker than that on earlier T-34s. The 1/72 scale model from Dragon Armor depicts a vehicle from the 1st Guards Tank Brigade, part of the 8th Guards Mechanized Corps. This unit was renamed from the 4th Tank Brigade on 11 November 1941, and it was the first to be designated with the “Guards” name, something the Soviets had hitherto avoided because of its association with the Czars. The name “Guards” was conferred on units that had distinguished themselves in combat, giving such formations an elite status. The tank wears a most distinctive camouflage scheme consisting of yellow bands over the standard green paint. Red stars are also emblazoned on the turret sides. The appearance of this T-34/76 Mod.1941 is outstanding, and it will become even more sought after considering the fact that it has been some time since Dragon Armor released this type of T-34! 1/72 23.95 LIMITED STOCK

DRR60487sm.jpg 1/72 T-34/85 Chinese Volunteer Army, Korea 1950 - Korean War 60th Anniversary Limited Edition, China entered the Korean War on October 19, 1950, and Chinese forces did not completely withdraw until 1958. To avoid any official war with the USA, Chinese soldiers fought under the auspices of the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army (PVA), even though they were all members of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The initial assault by 270,000 PVA troops on October 25, 1950 caught the UN completely by surprise. One of the armored vehicles that China deployed during the Korean War was the Soviet-designed T-34/85 tank. Indeed, it was the most powerful armored vehicle the communist side fielded during this brutal conflict. Last year, on the 60th anniversary of the Korean War, Dragon Armor released two 1/72 scale models. These were highly accurate replica M4A3E8(76W) Sherman tanks from the US side of the Korean War. Now, Dragon Armor has released a tank from the opposing side. This fully built-up T-34/85 bears authentic markings of the PVA. While Dragon Armor has released versions of the T-34/85 before, up till now they have all been in Soviet markings. This latest tank is thus all the more exceptional with its Chinese ownership and tactical markings. With full detail replicated in miniature, and with an amazingly well-crafted paint finish and weathering effects, this impressive T-34/85 is ready to take on its UN foes on the troubled Korean Peninsular! 1/72 23.95 PRE-ORDER

DRR60544sm.jpg Tiger I Late Production s.Pz.Abt.510, December 1944. Perhaps the most famous of all German tanks of WWII was the formidable Tiger I. With a reputation as fierce as its name suggests, this heavy tank introduced into service in August 1942 stalked and destroyed enemy armored vehicles across numerous battlefields in the latter half of the war. Despite its fame, a surprisingly small total of just 1,347 Tiger I tanks was built up till August 1944. The Tiger I was the first German tank to mount the deadly 8.8cm KwK 36 cannon, and boasting armor that was 120mm thick in places, it weighed in at a massive 62.7 tons. This combination of firepower and armor protection resulted in a creditable ratio of 5.74 enemy tank kills to each Tiger loss. Dragon Armor’s newest 1/72 scale model (Item No.60544) depicts one of these mighty Tiger I tanks, in this case a Late-Production version. It is presented in the markings of s.Pz.Abt.510, a unit formed in June 1944. After being equipped with its complement of Tiger Is, s.Pz.Abt.510 was sent to the Eastern Front. It fought in East Prussia and Kurland until the end of the war. The unit’s distinctive standing bear marking inside a shield is applied to the front of the hull. This exciting Dragon Armor item has a readymade Zimmerit coating applied with a master’s touch to give a fine scale appearance. It is also adorned in a typical three-color camouflage scheme. Armor model lovers won’t “bear” to be without this Tiger I in their collections! 1/72 28.95 PRE-ORDER DUE DECEMBER 2011
